Oyster Wellness Meditation Chair for Heller

The Oyster Meditation Chair began with a challenge: create a chair that makes traditional meditation postures comfortable—even for people who usually struggle with them. Designer Alex Muradian partnered with exercise physiologist Jesse Schwartzman to solve it, blending ergonomic science with sculptural form.

The result is a patent-pending seat that supports spinal alignment, encourages natural hip rotation, and reduces pressure on the knees, hips, and lower back. A subtle gap under the thighs promotes movement and airflow, while a soft, stable base supports the SITS bones to prevent fatigue.
